Prompted by my friend Mary’s limwrick’d thoughts on Siegfried’s fragility (like Achille’s heel, absurd in and of itself), I thought of Adam’s Marvin and Milne’s Eeyore sitting at the fire, under the stars, opining in verse lachrymose on their fate…\u00a0 It is not a pretty sight, risible as it might be.<\/p>\n

Lachrymose isn’t a sweet, \"\"
\nNor does it come from a teat,
\nIt comes of a blight,
\nWhich results in a plight,
\nAs can be seen in my life’s receipt.<\/p>\n

Doomed said the witch to the pot,
\nDoomed said the king to the sot,
\nWhat’s in a name,
\nIs ever the same,
\nIt’s why Abe, John and Martin got shot.<\/p>\n

Sisyphus murdered his guests,
\nHe saw them as no more than pests,
\nWhile Camus saw his fate,
\nAs absurdly first rate,
\nNo one came to the fellow’s inquest.<\/p>\n

Sad though you think I may be,
\nI am sure that you don’t really see,
\nThat your salty tears,
\nAnd implacable fears,
\nAre the thinnest reflection of me.<\/p>\n
