{"id":1170,"date":"2019-01-24T12:34:00","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T21:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/opinion.alaskapolicy.net\/pardonme\/?p=1170"},"modified":"2019-01-24T12:37:54","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T21:37:54","slug":"from-soup-to-nuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/opinion.alaskapolicy.net\/pardonme\/from-soup-to-nuts\/","title":{"rendered":"From Soup to Nuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was a bit taken aback by a Facebook comment shared recently by John Fulton <span id='easy-footnote-1-1170' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/opinion.alaskapolicy.net\/pardonme\/from-soup-to-nuts\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-1170' title=' &lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jfultonak\/posts\/10156748296616745&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot; rel=&quot;noopener&quot;&gt;https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/jfultonak\/posts\/10156748296616745&lt;\/a&gt;'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>, a person I know to be intelligent, compassionate, giving, sensitive, and a devout Catholic.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">It breaks my heart and shatters my soul to see the depravity that our society has perpetuated today.<\/p>\n<p>New York not only legalized abortion to the day of the child\u2019s birth, but they also removed protections in the event the child survives, they can still murder the child with impunity. They removed the requirement of abortions to be performed by doctors. The slap in the face was the signing of the bill by New York governor Andrew Cuomo, a purported Catholic.<\/p>\n<p>As a faithful Catholic Christian and Knight of Columbus, it sickens me. The fight for the sanctity of life has always been one of the most important moral issues that exists. Nor is there any credible argument that the New Testament holds otherwise.
